Yarn Ambassador

Hi.

Welcome to my podblog.  Here I showcase the work of independent yarn dyers from the UK and share some knitting traditions from around the world

Episode 9 - Selection Box

Episode 9 - Selection Box

Hello hello!

This episode I am offering up a selection box of independent yarn dyers from the UK. You can watch the episode below or scroll further down for the text version and all the links!

Ratty Yarns

Sadly I cant seem to find any outlet for Ratty Yarns so I fear they may no longer be dying... That said keep your eye out because the yarn was beautiful.

Knitter Scarlet

Thankfully still very much up and running and you can find Knitter Scarlet on Etsy and on Instagram

A really vibrant pallet or variegated yarns. Keep an eye on her instagram for latest dye updates.

Both the Knitter Scarlet and the Ratty Yarns I used for the Sockhead Cowl by Kelly Mclure

WooSheeps

Based in South Scotland this quirky independent yarn dyer has fun and really bright semi solid and solid yarns. Not only is their yarn a joy to work with but they have an irreverent outlook on dying and don't take themselves too seriously.

I used the Woosheeps yarn to make up the very simple but visually arresting EifelGold shawl by Melanie Berg

Triskelion Yarn

Another Yarn Festival find! Caerthen hails from Wales and Triskelion Yarns seems to specialise in out-of-the-ordinary blends.

I made up Banded by Dieuwke Schack-Mulligan which was designed for Triskelion Scylfing DK and it was dreamy. It's 75% BFL and 25% Gotland and it's got a heathered look that really lifts the dyes. It is SO soft and so very warm.
